…Ellen's brilliant passion of rapport with the music invited an ardent audience into her living room of music ecstasy.

Kim, www.broowaha.com

Ellen is available as a soloist, chamber or orchestral player, improviser, for casual or church gigs and as a recording artist.
as a performerI get as much joy out of performing Telemann's Fantasies as I do out of working on Ian Clarke's Great Train Race, which deals with multiphonics, chiffy double tongue effects and singing and playing at once.
I have been active as a performer in classical, contemporary and improvisational genres for over 35 years. As a composer, I have an analytical approach to preparing and honoring the written page. Yet, as a performer, I am aware that an engaged presentation makes the music come to life. I've had pieces written for me, and it is quite exciting to play a piece written for my style of playing. I have enjoyed premiering several flute pieces.
I really feel that when I perform my goal is to embody the emotion of the music. It′s a time for me to connect with my own inner emotion, dialogue and story. When I play, my goal is to be connected to the muse, so that the audience can relax deeply and access its own muses. Because of my personable and friendly stage presence, I feel I can open up an audience to classical or contemporary music that they might have otherwise felt intimidated by before.
